My journey in photography began in the early 1980s during the golden era of film. I didn't just shoot images; I processed them myself in the darkroom, watching prints slowly come to life under the red safelight. That hands-on foundation taught me patience, precision, and an deep appreciation for light, composition, and storytelling through a single frame.

About eight years ago, while living in the greater Philadelphia area, I launched G.D. Scavette Photography. I specialized in luxury real estate photography, helping high-end properties shine for discerning buyers and sellers. Along the way, I explored a wide range of genres—portraiture, professional corporate headshots, family sessions, lively events, and my personal favorite: venturing into remote wilderness areas to capture breathtaking nature and landscape scenes. Many of those outdoor images became limited-edition art prints.

Life eventually brought me to the heart of central Maine, where the landscapes are nothing short of inspiring—rugged coastlines, serene lakes, vibrant fall foliage, and endless outdoor adventures. Today, I'm fully immersed in this beautiful region and excited to call it home.
